Carrot cake is one of my favorite desserts. I love it so much I almost even made it a layer of our wedding cake!

In a search to recreate the taste without the sugars, I decided to try a healthy alternative with this Spicy Carrot Cake Smoothie Bowl recipe.

The health benefits of peaches are typically overlooked. Yes, they are sweet and juicy but also nutritious.

I love them because they have anti-aging properties and help with digestion and detoxification. Peaches are also know for beta-carotene, vitamin C, calcium, potassium, and zinc, and copper.

To keep my GI system running smoothly, I detox seasonally. Peaches are a ‘dessert’ for me during a summer detox. The struggle is real when you’re trying to cleanse or detox for the first time.

Most people think that the goal of a detox is to lose weight. While weight loss is usually a bonus to cleansing, you rid you body of toxins and may even uncover hidden issues with foods that are the root of inflammation, headaches, breakouts, and bloating.

If you’re looking for a detox that is whole-food based, check out my Glow from the Gut program. After this 14-day program, you’ll have gorgeous glowing and ageless skin naturally.

I’m a snacker, so I like to add protein in my smoothies. This helps to sustain your energy throughout the day. I look for protein powder that contains Solathin. This is a nutrient that helps you feel fuller longer.

I talk more about the protein powder I use here in this post Cashew Cacao Smoothie Bowl.

For today’s carrot cake smoothie bowl, I wanted to incorporate toppings that compliment a traditional carrot cake.

Shredded coconut is a good source of protein and fiber. Just one cup of shredded coconut contains 2.68 grams of protein.

Although small, raisins are concentrated and packed full of energy and nutrients like vitamin B, iron, and potassium.

If you’re dealing with inflammation, adding Pineapple can have anti-inflammatory benefits. It also supports eye health and can boost immunity.

I grew up adding nuts in my carrot cake for a little crunch. Hemp Seeds add that familiar nutty flavor. They’re also full of healthy fats for glowing skin.
